Joseph 'Sef' Nichols - Soldier, Commando, Mercenary.

When an assassination contract deep in the deserts of Libya results in betrayal and murder, Sef finds himself robbed of everything that made his life his own. Forced into early retirement, he struggles to find purpose in a world so different from that which he has been trained to accept.

But when an old friend requests his help to find and kill the man who took their lives from them, he soon finds himself thrown into the darkness of conflict once again.

Their search takes them to Serbia, where a civil war rages uncontrollably, and the pair soon find themselves spiraling far deeper into the fighting than they ever intended.

Shadows from their pasts are to be confronted and unlikely allies must be found if they are to hunt down their mutual enemy, a man standing at the head of a fierce and ruthless army hell-bent on seizing a nation.

He is their target.

He is their retribution.

Underneath the Sudanese Sun She left her past in the dust, but memory is patient - and silence is a terrible grave. When a late-night hospital shift turns into a siege, trauma surgeon Dr. Keira Stafford neutralizes the attackers with calm precision - too much precision for someone who claims to have never seen combat. Her actions save lives, but they also raise questions that only one man seems brave enough to ask. Enter Dr. Noah Stanton, the quiet, unshakable psychiatrist tasked with evaluating her after the incident. What begins as a mandatory psych assessment becomes a battle of will and wit - and a reluctant unravelling of the secrets Keira has buried for over a decade. As fragments of her past resurface - from the French Foreign Legion to the scorched deserts of East Sudan - Keira must confront the ghosts that followed her home. But when her new life and her old sins collide, the cost of survival may no longer be one she's willing to pay. Taut, emotional, and deeply human, Underneath the Sudanese Sun explores what happens when healing becomes another kind of war - and when love and loss are two sides of the same wound. Author's Note Hi there ! This story has lived in my head for a long time - pieces of it written between school, exams, and quiet nights where I just needed an escape. I've always loved the desert, the way it hides life beneath all that stillness. Underneath the Sudanese Sun is my first finished manuscript ( yet to be edited . Feel free to add any suggestions or critiques in the comments) , and it still feels a little unreal to share it. It's a story about grief, secrets , memory, loss, and healing.- but mostly about scaring and healing , love and loss. Ps - I'll be adding chapters periodically from out of my google doc. Thank you for being here and reading something that means this much to me. I hope, in some way, it reaches you - the same way the desert always finds its way back into my head.

Por Suppakarn-cold-blooded heir of the Thai mafia syndicate known as Suppawet-has lived his entire life by one rule: trust no one. Especially not the son of an enemy. Teetee Wanpichit is the adopted son of an ex-European crime boss, and the symbol of a newly-forged alliance between East and West. To strengthen the fragile truce, the two mafia families arrange a marriage-on paper, strategic. In reality, explosive. Forced into a partnership they both resent, Por and Teetee start their marriage hating each other. But underneath every threat, every stolen glance, lies an attraction too sharp to ignore. As gunfire echoes and betrayal slinks in the shadows, their fake marriage begins to turn into something frighteningly real. Until one mission goes horribly wrong. Teetee vanishes. Por is told he died. But he didn't. Teetee wakes up in a countryside hospital, memories shattered, face unrecognizable due to surgery done without his consent. The only thing he remembers is a name that makes his heart ache. "Por." A year later, fate drags them back together. But now Teetee is working for the enemy-without knowing it. And Por... Por has vowed never to love again. But some loves are written in blood and sealed with kisses that no memory loss can erase.
