Jamie has a shit life. She had too many responsibilities for a 17 year old girl who hasn't even finished high school yet. With her suicidal mother in the hospital and her very impulsive and questionable adoptive father that doesnt have a job and her little sister who is autistic, she is the respective adult in the house. She pays the bills with two jobs and she does what she can to keep the family on track. But then tragedy hits. Hard. And its too much for her to handle.
