I was a hockey star. There was no modest way to put it. I was the best of the best. I was the captain of the best Division I team in the country. It didn't help that I was smart and hot. I was that guy that made all the rest self-conscious. I had my fair share of puck bunnies, all running at my every beck and call. I thought I had it all, until I realized I didn't have everything. I didn't have my perfect girl. I didn't have Hailey Allen and I wasn't going to stop until she was mine.

Athletes were not my type. They were rude and cocky and oh-so-gorgeous. My issue was that they were painfully aware of that last fact. They though they were God's gift to Earth. I liked my men modest and humble. Smart and caring. Kind and responsible. I definitely was never going to fall in love with the ice hockey star, even if he did have the most incredible green eyes. Even if he was as smart as I could only wish to be. Even if he was Brody Miller and just so easy to fall in love with.
