Emma Holt is a sweet, shy 16 year old girl. Her father passed away from cancer that he was living with for three years and her mom thinks it would be good to get a new start. Emma and her mother move to Orange County in California. Being the new girl again is far from what Emma wanted. She always has a hard time making friends because of her shyness. When Alisha, an outgoing, smart girl at Emma's new school starts talking to her, Emma starts coming out of her shyness. When she meets the mysterious Will Heywood, who is best friends with Alisha her life starts turning upside down. She did what she never thought would happen. She fell in love. But Will has a secret that only Alisha knows. When Emma starts getting suspicious of Will, he has no choice but to tell her. How will Emma take it? But most importantly, will Emma have to say goodbye?
