"Dear citizens,
Do you no longer cry for your country? Who did these soldiers die for? Why do you flee, just as our friends did?
Oh citizens..."
South Vietnam, 1964. The Vietnam War has been raging for nine years. An American troop is sent to protect 15-year-old Khôi Luồng's village. The village is bombed a year later, killing nearly everyone Khôi ever knew. In 1966, he joins the Navy, determined to avenge South Vietnam, his home, his people, with his own blood. Amidst the war, he somehow finds brotherhood, laughter, and even forbidden love.
1975, Sài Gòn. Lieutenant Luồng makes his final salute, as he whispers,
"𝘊ô𝘯𝘨 𝘋â𝘯 ơ𝘪... 𝘊ô𝘯𝘨 𝘋â𝘯 ơ𝘪..."
And the citizens of the years to come call out his name in return.
