Allison Foster, despite being born into Candor, was one of the best liars in her community. She realised she didn't fit in with Candor the moment she stole an extra sweet and blamed on her classmate. She could lie as if it was her second nature, which it was. She was waiting for the Aptitude test, knowing that she'd either transfer into Erudite or Dauntless, but what shocked her was to learn that she belonged in both. Having no idea what to do, she decides to follow her bestfriend Christina's choice and transfers to Dauntless.

To everyone, Christina was Allison Foster's bestfriend. But to Allison she was much much more; she was the love of her life. Being able to lie easily she managed to keep this a secret from everyone, even when they injected truth serum as a test on her she could lie. Her sexuality was one of the many lies she kept from her faction. Transferring to Dauntless she hoped that she'd somehow fit in but she had no idea of the storm that was coming her way.
