He was the struggling twenty year old, the one living in the old slum apartments. The one with all the pointless tattoos and piercings. The one mothers would shield their children from. The one that people would cross the street, just to avoid him. The one that's only source of money comes from working at an old tattoo parlor. If you can count what he does as working. 

She was the sweet and innocent girl, the one that was the typical daddy's girl. She was from the other side of town, the one that frowned upon the slums. She was the one who would cross the street to avoid his type. She was innocent. Sweet. Almost shy, in the sense of the word. An innocent little girl, making her living by working at her families bakery. 

They weren't meant to meet, let alone fall in love. He wasn't even meant to wander to the wrong side of town that day. She doesn't trust him. She doesn't want to give him a chance. 

But somehow he convinces her. He convinces her to let him in. To let him love her, to show her his image isn't him. To protect her from his world.

But sometimes, no matter how hard someone tries, they can't protect their loved ones from everything.
