At the Cross-Country Sectionals, Pablo, James, and Ian from Richmont High School are battling the best of the best. Fast, hulking, strong, endurance driven athletes run against them as they navigate the tricky, hilly Sectional course. But through luck and strategy, the trio swept the podium, earning them all a trip to the State Finals in their final season as runners. They celebrate with their coach and are later given a school ceremony for their historic sweep and possible State Title. However, it isn't isn't as happy and legit as it once was. The three are cheats.

As the State Final approaches, ethical and moral questions are brought up amongst one another over the legality and ethics of the drugs they have taken, and specifically that of their Coach and of their leader, Pablo. James leads us on a tale of deception and ruthlessness as he attempts to find out how deep the drug culture is within High School Cross Country and his choice to try to take a stand against his superiors who forced him to take the drugs. These conflicts led to the questions of whether or not he, or themselves as a team, could succeed in the very place that forced them to use drugs in the 1st place...
