The world's earliest story is that of the 'Man' conquering the savage wild and emerging as the supreme being, the undefeated hero. This mono myth gives rise to the phrase, Man vs Wild, which forces one to imagine a poor helpless man braving nature with little to no resources. But has one ever wondered if the reality is actually reversed? Could it be that, in today's day and age, it is more appropriate to say that the correct wording Wild vs Man?
Today, we see the oceans acidifying, the carbon dioxide levels increasing, animals going extinct while we sit at home enjoying a pizza topped with the remnants of a tortured animals or we sit in the park, anxiously waiting for our date as we rip blades of grass from the ground in order to sooth our nervousness. We discard our sodas into the nearest water stream when no one is looking just as we trap animals in showcases smaller than our own children. With so much torture, pain and suffering, being hand fed to our surroundings, it will not be long before they start to rebel just as we did to our oppressive surrounding ages ago, just as these organisms did on a planet not unlike like earth a few thousand light years away.
