My life changed forever the day I found him, half dead, and covered in horrifying old and new scars alike; the winged man. He was so beaten and terrified... I couldn't just leave him there, so...I took him home with me. I did my best to coax him out of his shell, but I think there's something he's not telling me, something besides what happened to him...
Why was he trapped when I found him? Why can he hardly speak? Why was he so scared of people? He was so scarred I swore he might have been tortured... How did he get those scars?
Who did this to him? What could they do to me; what WOULD they do to me if they found out how close Raven and I are getting? And...what would they do to get him back?

*Featured on Fantasy's Dark Fantasy reading list!* ► Book One of the Wings Trilogy This is, by no means, a story for those light of heart. This is also, unfortunately, a true story. I am a doctor with wings, one who doesn't belong here. I know, stereotypical. But it's true. Still confused? I used to be an angel. I caused the apocalypse of the planet inhabited by the very creatures I was supposed to help. It was the only way to help them, really. But that's a different story for a different day. Now, the surviving humans have emerged from the rubble, soaking in the damage left over from my destructive actions. What are they supposed to do about that? I have been cast upon earth, given the task of taking care of them and healing them. I suppose I have to clean up after myself. I doubt, however, that I have any chance of returning home to Elvirund. Or, as the humans call it, Heaven. You see, all of them are wounded.
