Not all poison comes in a bottle. Not all dragons breathe fire.

After the death of Queen Ilia, the King of Lyris married again to keep the peace. His new queen, not a match for her predecessor, soon became a tyrannous monarch hellbent on causing pain for those who did not accept her. One of those was her step-son, the Prince Taiden, who would one day rule the kingdom. Considered mad by those around him, Taiden is believed to have been consumed by grief, but the young prince has spent ten years playing a very dangerous game; a game of poison and secrets to keep the Kingdom his mother adored, safe.

On the outskirts of Lyris is an outcast; a young girl with scales on her neck and a dagger in her belt. Xylia is a hunter who is watching the last of her people succumb to a death no one can stop. With fire in her veins, her encounter with Prince Taiden leaves her wanting blood, and answers.
