But then they find the Tower, a survivalist colony in the middle of the city with a large population of people. The Tower is secure. The Tower is safe. Luca "The Tank" Davis is a star player on the Bayview University football team, a powerful force on the field, and a guy who seems to have it all. He's got the looks, the fame, the skill, and a reputation that precedes him. Off the field, he's known for his cold, distant demeanor, and it's not hard to see why he's learned the hard way that people only want to be around him for what he can do for them. He trusts no one. But everything starts to change when he meets Isla Matthews. Isla is a quiet, invisible figure on campus who's hiding from her past. She's the girl who walks around in oversized sweaters, sits alone in the back of every lecture, and is determined to stay unnoticed. She's carrying emotional scars, and she doesn't want anyone to know. She's also never cared about football-until one day, she accidentally bumps into Luca in a library study room. They don't talk much at first, but something about Isla's sadness and Luca's bitterness intrigues the other. He can see there's more to her than she lets on. She's not chasing his fame or fortune, and that's different from every other person in his life. As their paths cross more and more-during long study sessions, group projects, and unexpected moments-they find that their pain and struggles mirror each other in unexpected ways. But while Luca's life is splashed all over social media and the front page of the campus paper, Isla remains a shadow, a quiet girl with a broken heart. The story is about them finding each other when everything around them is falling apart. It's a romance built on trust, healing, and the realization that the loudest people don't always have the deepest pain, and the quietest people aren't always the weakest.

*COMPLETED* When Rosie turned thirty-one with nothing to show for it, she panicked. Suddenly it felt like her biological clock was ticking, but she didn't want to settle for a man for the sake of having a child. So, after falling down a rabbit hole of research online, she decided to find herself a sperm donor. A strangely vague profile ends up catching her interest. The only real thing she learned about him was that his name was Levi and he was in the military. One invasive and intimate procedure later, Lily was conceived. It was a few months after her daughter was born, when Rosie should have been fretting about the price of nappies and lack of sleep, her worries were overshadowed by an event she never, ever could have predicted: a zombie outbreak. Rosie locked herself away in Finches tower block, stocked up on supplies from abandoned neighbouring flats, and lived every day with the sole purpose of keeping her daughter alive. Doing so meant avoiding the dead as well as the living. She'd been doing a decent job of it so far. Until a man breaks into the tower block, but it wasn't just any man. It was Levi, Lily's literal sperm donor. And he was there to save them. -- When a bioweapon was released on UK soil, Staff Sergeant Levi James Brackley was sent from pillar to post in an attempt to help neutralise and contain. Once it was clear neither was possible the last resort was to form a safe zone on the Isle of Wight. Levi decided to stay behind. The last evac chopper left without him on board. He knew it was a shot in the dark, that they were probably dead already, but he had to try. Without knowing it, they'd become a beacon of light during the darkest time of his life. Now it was his turn to be there's.

MC: Here's a How Not to Survive a Hostage Situation: Don't be me. Rule#1 Don't meet a guy fighting against cutlery. Rule#2 Don't get mistaken for someone with talent when you've absolutely none. Rule#3 Don't let a war, a high-stakes revenge plot, and one human weapon disguised as a person wreck your already failing life. (Oh, and don't expect me to tell you my name. You'll have to earn that.) But if you do? Congrats. You're now in my position-trapped, bleeding, and somehow still expected to be the sane one. Trowa: You're not the sane one. MC: Okay, first of all-rude. Second of all, enter Trowa. Trowa: Don't enter me into this. MC: Sigh. He's a questionable ally who moves people like chess pieces. Trowa: Incorrect. I don't play chess with lives. I just... redecorate the board when necessary. MC: Yeah. That's so much better. He plans. I panic. Together, we're one bad decision away from death. Trowa: Two. I have contingencies. MC: Oh, great. So we die second. Fantastic. And if we survive this, I'm going to need therapy. Trowa: You need therapy even if we don't. ################################## She was supposed to be a bystander. Now, she's bleeding in the middle of a war she doesn't understand. A single step-wrong place, wrong time-and now she's entangled in a brutal game of shifting alliances, weaponized secrets, and people who treat lives like collateral. She wanted quiet. Instead, she's dodging kidnappers, advanced tech, and a human weapon in the shape of a too-strategic ally. The worst part? She is not important-just unlucky. And in this kind of game, even those important don't survive long. ################################## For fans of sarcastic narrators, bad decisions, and humor that's basically Percy Jackson... if he grew up, got more cynical, bled more, and forgot how to run away. ##################################

[Book 1 of the ARC10 Trilogy] **Winner of the 2017 Watty Storysmith award** The President created an underground safe-haven for the survivors of the alien invasion. He built it to save them all from total annihilation. He protects them, feeds them, keeps them under his ever-watchful gaze so they can live. All he asks is that they obey. Captain Janika Lorn doesn't want to obey. Not if it means spreading her legs and contributing to the President's precious eugenics program. As a perfect candidate for the Human Hope Project, she is obligated by law to make more citizens for the dying society. But all she wants is her freedom to fight the Invaders and protect the people who already exist. If the mandated program wasn't bad enough, the worst part is trying to fulfill it with Captain Dean Freyer, her scientifically matched partner and best friend of sixteen years. Just as Captain Lorn is about to succumb to her fate, another opportunity arises. A mysterious commanding officer asks her to lead a human refugee ship--to save humanity by evacuating the destroyed Earth and shuttling the remaining population to a new habitable exoplanet 400 light years away. The mission is perilous. Especially because now, standing between her and her freedom is the hostile alien hosts of her ship, the ARC10, a sister returned from the dead, an array of impossibly confusing alien tech, a rekindled heat between her and Dean, and a sexy militia chief she can't seem to keep her hands off of. ARC10 is a romance-heavy sci-fi with the speculative horror of Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale and the military action of Battle: Los Angeles. Cover art by @FayLane Copyright © 2016 by LL Montez
