"Annie, tonight, you and me are going to live, we're going to Glimmer Shields party," he says sternly. I look up at him with hatred. I didn't like living, I just wanted to read a book at my home. "Got it?" He asks me. I sigh, "got it," I mumble looking down at the ground. Annie didn't sign up to be, Finnick Odair's, girlfriend. She was the teachers pet. They even gave her detention watch. She was perfectly fine with her job until she met him. Finnick Odair. He was an obnoxious jock who only cares about himself. He makes her his fake girlfriend to get even more popularity. The 136th Hunger Games
When Kira Blackwood's name is reaped, she knows she's screwed. How is she supposed to survive in a fight to death with twenty-three other tributes, all of whom want to get out alive as much as she does? Despite secretly training for the Games in the cow pastures surrounding her home, and being pretty handy with a knife, Kira's kind heart may be the thing that holds her back the most. However, as she navigates through the opulent world of the Capitol, and then the arena itself, Kira starts to realize that maybe, just maybe, it's not the dead she should pity, but the Victor. After all, no one ever really wins the Hunger Games. Survives, sure. But wins? Never. ~~+~~ Please Note: This is set in a world where the 2nd Rebellion failed. All usurpers were executed (except those pesky star-crossed lovers, who knows where they ran off to), District 13 was destroyed for good (but District 12 was rebuilt, on the basis that the Capitol realized that it actually really needed coal), and the Hunger Games were reinstated.
