Harper Avery Elizabeth is a seventeen-year-old wanna-be major artist of all forms, except dance, that is; like her new friend Samuel, she has two left feet. Sam, on the other hand, is a nineteen-year-old up-and-coming connoisseur of every art imaginable, including the art of reading body language. Yet, when his dad, Liam, finds Harper walking along a Mississippi state route, he brings her in for what they all thought would be the night, until Liam finds what's in Harper's duffel bag. He offers her a seat in their trailer on what was supposed to be a father-son road trip to Albany with a pit stop in NYC. Realizing how full of surprises she is, Sam becomes intrigued with Harper and her art. He couldn't read her body language or anything and it was getting to him. When he figures out why, it's almost too late. Harper's mother, who she ran away from in a heated argument, realizes that she may have just thrown away the last bit of family she has and files a missing person's report that spreads across the nation. The search only spreads to New York after they leave Harper in one of the city's best art galleries. Harper hides in the streets from anyone who may be looking for her, knowing there would be many people looking because of the reward if anyone found her. Then she sees Sam on the streets looking up and down alleys for her when he said he should be in Albany. Does she trust him enough to help her, or does he want the money too? She couldn't go back home to her mother, not without proving herself first. But then she sees it on the big screens in Time Square. He ran too, just to find her. But it might be too late...
