  Alternative universe in which you lack the ability to see color until you touch your soulmate for the very first time. The story shall be viewed from the reader's perspective, so I decided to use non-gender specific words to replace labels such as &quot;she&quot; or &quot;he.&quot;

  I'm not very sure, it depends more on your character and will. If a large amount of readers REALLY insisted, I might continue or change the ending, but for now this story shall remain as a humble one-shot.

This is an x reader story but make it soulmates. Cause I seriously need some form a mental stability. Anyways please enjoy this. The art is a redraw of mine cause I felt the need. Um i forgot to mention is a colorblind soulmate story. Basically when two soulmates have physical connection you'll see color (only while in contact until they have kissed, after that everything stays colorful.). But until then everything is in black and white. If they experience heartbreak because of their soulmate or their soulmate dies everything goes back to black... whoops.

In this society, everyone has a soulmate. And the way to find yours is just look. Along with a soulmate, everyone has a small tattoo on their cheek with a symbol. Some could be a star, a flower, a yinyang, a fish, or even waves. There are so many people that the symbols are almost limitless. The tattoos don't care about gender or number. There could be gay matches, and there could even be polyamorous matches. The tattoos will tingle when you are near to your sm. And they will glow if you have found only one of your sm's if your match was poly. The trick is, you don't get the tattoo until you are 16. And even if you are near your match, as long as one of you are not of age, your tattoo will not tingle. Also, they are normal tattoos (except you don't get it or choose it, it just appears) so you can get rid of it. But if you do, your sm won't die but they will get very sick. The main characters of this story, Violet West (18) and Harper Black (20), both have a flame tattoo on their cheek. They live in the same state but for 4 years Harper paniced because she couldn't find her match. She wasn't sure if it was because her sm wasn't of age yet or if her sm lived far away. For 2 years Violet also paniced but she knew that some people don't find their sm for 5-10 years after they come of age, so she wasn't as scared as Harper.
