Ember's had a strange upbringing, even for a witch. Her family is scattered and estranged, with a bloodline as dark and old as New Orleans itself, and she's lived in a secluded house within the Bayou's her entire life with her eccentric older siblings. Her only since of normalcy seems to be the coffee shop she works at and her art school.
It isn't until she is plagued with visions of death and grizzly murders, that she discovers a power, one that is regarded as valuable and has been passed down her mysterious bloodline. This ability not only gains the notice of The Council, that governs otherworldly creatures, but makes her a key in solving the magical crimes that plague the bayou. Now she must control this power, and learn more about her family history, not only to save innocent lives, but to prevent herself from being the Council's tool.
