Diana Firewolf, not your average mundane name. Nor is Diana an average mundane. In fact, she isn't a mundane at all. She is something truly extraordinary. She's a warlock, or in gender terms, witch, but warlock sounds more badass. But she isn't just a warlock, she's a Shadowhunter.

She's the first of her kind. She doesn't know who her father is. Her mother is a recluse who doesn't even tell her daughter that she isn't really her mother.

In fact, Diana's mother is a very renowned Shadowhunter but it's not who you think. One night, she's attacked by a vampire and blue smoke pours from her fingers, then an arrow flies past her ear lodging itself in the demon.

Alec Lightwood is a Shadowhunter. He's from a very renowned family and happens to be nearby when Diana is attacked. He saves her and takes her back to the Institute. Little do the two know that they are going to be more than just mentor and student.
