These are a series of stories I made up for my 5yo as bedtime stories. She has trouble going to sleep, so I tell her to lie down and close her eyes and listen, then at least her body and mind have a chance to wind down. 

I don't like kids stories that rely on witchcraft and magic spells or fairies etc. The central plot device is a flying knitted blanket - idea pinched from Arabian Nights' flying carpet. At no point is it controllable or described as 'magical', although there is nothing to stop you calling it magic yourself.
