After her parents died when she was 5, Sam went to live with her aunt and uncle who abused her. 5 years later Rick and Lori Grimes adopted her. After joining the army at 18 Sam had seen and done a lot of horrible things. She was broken and no person could fix that. Or so she thought. When the apocalypse hit King county she was forced to leave with her family. She was all too familiar with this way of life and is not fazed one bit by it.
When her family joins a group of survivors things get messy when she meets a redneck who might just be as broken as she is.

The Man With The Crossbow (Daryl Dixon romance)
Alex wasn't expecting to see anyone out in the woods while looking for her next shelter. The two men seemed like obnoxious, loudmouth rednecks. The ones she had to deal with before shit hit the fan.
