Knight and Day

She thought she knew nothing about him.
She couldn't figure him out.
He was brooding, complex and caused her heart to skip several beats.
He talked to a total of two people in the school, one of those people was the school counsellor.
The way he stormed down the school hallways like a man on a mission.
The weight of the world on one shoulder and his inner turmoil on the other.
Her Adonis, he was so troubled, like someone had taken thunder and lightning and placed them in his eyes.

He thought he knew everything about her.
He had her all figured out.
She would marry her college sweetheart, white-picket fence, two kids and we can't forget the dog.
She smelled of candy, the sickeningly sweet ones.
The ones you knew were forbidden to eat because they would make you sick but that didn't stop the cravings.
It was easy to lose her in the crowd at first, but then she smiled and singularly outshone the moon, the sun,and the stars.

'Sometimes opposites aren't really opposites if you think about it the night and the day don't really oppose each other , they work together to form a bigger picture.'

I looked at the crowd and saw a range of emotions the prominent one being confusion.

'I guess I'm going to have to start this story from the beginning.'
