Depressed, deprived and disoriented. Theses words describe this 17 year old Lee smith. Lee smith has experienced numerous deaths in her family as her parents died in a plane crash and her grandmother recently passed away. As, the troubled 17 year old  is passed down as a item to her abusive uncle. Her day starts with pain and ends with pain. The feeling of isolation is killing  her, she feels as if she has no control over herself and adapts ways that cause her more pain. SELF HARM. School, is the only place where she isn't physically hurt, thus she comes across a lot of mental strain. But, what happens when the new gym teacher, Jason McKenzie, steps in the notorious school, would Jason ever figure out why Lee is so isolated and caged in. Amber is starts off the book as a 5th grader who has a lot in her life from losing all of her friends, having to move schools the next year, and her brother graduating from there Catholic school to go to public high school. Amber and her brother Shane are very close and can talk about anything. While Shane is in his freshman year in public school he meets a boy named Jason. Jason and Shane acme best friends and Amber starts to realize that she's losing her brother and will do anything to keep him. After a little while she's has all the boys looking at her and she accepts Jason. But Shane and jason can't handle the boys she with especially Tyler. These three will be through a lot together like Divorces, Losing friends, getting kicked out of your house, going away to boarding school for 3 years, and than coming home to live in a house full of your brothers friends.
