I never wanted to trust again. After being cast aside like a broken toy, I learned that betrayal has a specific sting-especially when it comes from your own blood. My parents chose my ex's lies over my truth, leaving me with nothing but my own grit to survive. I survived by shedding my old skin and dawning a new persona.
