I shivered as the icy wind lashed at my face, leaving a burning sensation as my eyes started to water, but I tried to ignore the cold. I distanced myself from the car hearing his shouts behind me. Eventually, when I couldn't pick up my feet anymore, I stopped moving to catch my breathe. His feet crunched through the snow and I didn't have to turn to know he was behind me. "You would be willing to-" I struggled with the word as if saying it would make it all the more real. "You'd hurt someone for my sake?" I already knew the answer, but I felt the need to ask anyway. Yet, I couldn't bring myself to say the word. He walked around so that he was in front of me and for a moment he didn't move, but then he took my hands in his. His hands were still warm despite the fact that he was wearing nothing but a light coat when it was below zero outside. He brought my hands up to his lips, so close that I could feel his hot breathe against my icy fingers. "Aaralyn, I would kill for you."
