It's 1829, Ectoplasmic energy powers the city. Madeline and John "Jack" Fenton are ectolarks, low class laborers who "muck" through the river for residual ectoplasmic energy. It's a dangerous job, but it's worth it.
Their son Daniel "Danny" Fenton, when working a tragic day at the ectoplasmic energy machine explodes and he becomes half ghost. So do hundreds of others become full ghost.
Now he is valuable source of ectoplasmic energy and has a huge bounty on his head.

It has been three years since Amity Park first saw ghosts, and now it was uncommon to go a day without an explosion or fight of some kind. Heroes have shown up, the Red Huntress, the GIW, The Fenton's, and Phantom. Danny Fenton used to be an A+ student; he was going to go on to be an astronomer, an astronaut, and live out his dreams of visiting the stars. No one really knows what happened to the bright kid he used to be, but he was now failing practically every class, and if he wasn't sleeping in class, he was missing half of it. No one knows what happened to the bright young star, but they want to. Danny Phantom is the Ghost Prince. After defeating the prior Ghost King, every entity in the Ghost Realm was preparing for his coronation. The day his body turns eighteen years old, he will be the Ghost King. However, they cannot have a halfling as their king, so the only viable option is to kill his human half. Thankfully that has already been written into the coronation process. They just need to collect the ingredients for the potion. Danny Phantom would rather not be king, but he doesn't get a say in the matter. - The title is from the song Dark on Me from Starset. I just thought it was kind of cool. I started writing this a while ago, and I have a few parts already written, but I am going to hold off on posting them because I have a habit of procrastination, so maybe waiting to post for a few days or so will help me actually update it. She has a rare form of cancer for which she takes medicine for every day. Dad says it keeps the cancer's growth at bay. When Emma meets her friend's boyfriend, his mysterious healing capabilities lead to the discovery that she's not sick... What else has her dad lied to her about? And what's the medicine really for? ---I don't own Danny Phantom---- I normally wouldn't do fan fiction, but I've been reading a lot of Danny Phantom fan fic and there was none that really visited his future, so...
