'The rush of everyone pushing through the doors and running to their vacation was exhilarating. The warm sun on my face as I stepped outside, the light breeze touching my skin. It was summer, and I was happy'

Laken Trent is a stressed junior in highschool looking for more than a lonely boring summer spent inside her room, and is desperate for something exciting. As the year is coming to an end, her and her friends decide to make this summer something to talk about, and they know just the way how. What's better than a cliché road trip? Three girls, two boys, one car, three weeks. Anything could happen

The Summer of Serendipity

11 parts Ongoing Mature

Summers are supposed to be that time of the year that you should look forward to. No school, hours at the beach, late night parties. What's not to love? Three words. My neighbor's grandson. For once in her life, Maliah Arias is looking forward to her summer. It's the summer before senior year and life couldn't be better. She has a hot college boyfriend, plenty of Dl soccer scholarship offers, and she just went through a massive glow up. To make matters better, her neighbor's annoying yet very hot grandson, Jackson Cruz, who usually visits every summer, is away in Europe. When circumstances change, Maliah finds herself once again in the presence of Jackson, who seems hell-bent on making her life miserable. Although as time passes, the two of them find themselves growing closer and closer, whether they like it or not. Tears are shed, hearts are broken, and Maliah finds herself wondering if she'll be able to survive the summer and make it to senior year.
