Sure, seventeen-year-old Aria Silvers didn't have the best relationship with her mother, but the last thing she wished upon her was death.

To Aria's dismay, her mother is killed in a bar fight, and she was left heartbroken. She didn't know what to do nor what to feel. The only family she was aware of had been taken away from her and now she was left alone.

But when a woman who claims to be her best friend appears out of nowhere, she takes Aria home with her to California where she will live a normal life and continue school.
