Takes place 3 years after Luke's departure from London. A letter from an unknown sender has found its way to Luke and the professor's doorstep at the same time. It states about an abduction or kidnapping of an unknown kidnapper.
Not short after the letter arrived, another letter has made its way to Professor Layton's door step. And this time, from Luke Triton, his number 1 apprentice. Asking if he would want to come for the puzzle.
Together, will they be able to solve the mysteries if this single letter and it's contents?

With the mystery of the cryptic town of Psylias solved, Foliis, Faith, Fey, Bryne, Caj, Scarlet, Casey, and Lucy are summoned for yet another investigation. This time around, they visit the island of Bohimika, where many other investigators have been summoned to observe the area as well. Bohimika shows odd signs of the residents being manipulated to an unhealthy degree, making suspicion arouse around every corner. While on the island, a group of the investigators end up being kidnapped. From there, things go bad to worse, leaving Foliis, Faith, and Fey unresponsive to their surroundings. From a cast of new investigators to a gang of new mysteries, things only continue to deepen into a dark pit of despair.
