A girl drowning in the hatred and fear this new world holds, monsters like those from her nightmares threatening her every move. Alone and lost, the way she had been for months and years.
But then she gets found by a group who have faced the horrors of the ones that eat others and the bandits and the crazy ones. And an unsuspecting redneck who becomes the one trying to protect this little girl not just from the world, but from herself...

====================================

"But if you don't have other people why would you want to live? Why live to be alone?" Michonne seemed like she understood what I was saying. Like she had felt that before, but was trying to tempt me out of the mindset.

"Cuz livin' alone is still livin'," I shrugged and looked down at my knees.

"No it ain't. It's existin' but not livin'," Daryl briefly joined in from where he stood facing away from me in the corner.

"I would rather exist than live. No strings attached," I admitted and Daryl dropped his head down.

"I never thought I'd meet somebody more damaged than me, yet here we are," he murmured, only just audible.

"I like being damaged. Damaged people are dangerous. They know how to survive," I was proud of this statement. That I knew it mostly.

Michonne looked at me with pity, uncertain of what to say. I couldn't blame her really. She just bit her lip.

Daryl spoke for her, a quiet whisper of," I know."

And that was when I knew.

Welcome to season 2! This is a fanfiction of the Walking Dead show ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SNEAK PEEK! "I don't need no nurse to look after me," he snapped at me, angry, and I frowned at him. He turned away from me after looking down "Quit being a baby...it will only take a second Daryl," I told him, moving to stand where I knew he could see me. "What happened?....why are you avoiding me?'' I asked, seeing him turn to look away. "Daryl?" "You were right to want to kill em" Daryl finally spoke up with a whisper. I frowned and felt my breathing quicken with the idea. "He said somethin about... the men messing with some young girls. " He spoke, but I could hear the anger in his voice. "Beat the shit out of em just because of that..." He said and turned away from me. I thought that was it until he just kicked something of his over making a loud bang "son of a bitch" he snapped and sat down and held his head low. I walked over to him and stopped just a foot from him "what he said reminded me of....you..." he said and shook his head "Because of what happened to you...I remember how skiddish you were back then...if I had known what he was doin I would have beat the shit out of him too....I don't want that happening again..." he said and finally looked up to me. I didn't know what else to say. I just looked at him now knowing he cared about me more than he showed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *I DO NOT OWN ANY CHARACTERS FROM THE WALKING DEAD, OR STORYTELLING AND ALL CREDIT GOES TO ORIGINAL WRITERS AND SHOW. I picked up every article of clothing as I heard the water streaming from behind the curtains. Folding her clothes near where she kept her shoes, I stripped off my clothes and stepped into the shower with her. My hands wrapped around her waist, as I stuck my face in the crook of her neck. I started to do a trail of kisses up to the back of the ear. The tension on her shoulders started to break slowly as I kissed each inch of her skin. I'd been so worried about how she is mentally doing since the death of Lori. She hadn't processed much after the little nugget was birthed. She jumped into action immediately after, coming with me to get formula, and didn't stop until we got back to our mattress. She didn't sleep much, and I followed her out as she let out what she had been holding all day. I also have been holding back something for the past couple of weeks. And I want to be able to tell her, but with everything going on, I'm not sure when it's the appropriate time. Hell, the words have never been formed in my mouth. Not even with my brother. So instead of talking verbally, I let myself speak physically. Her body turned to me, giving me a heated kiss. When I pushed her to the wall of the bathroom, it was game over for both of us. - - - The Walking Dead AU Daryl Dixon x OFC 𝐁.𝐃.𝐃. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐜 (𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝟏)

Alive With The Dead

31 parts Complete

The world didn't end all at once-it unraveled slowly. Quietly. While no one was looking. Neve, a introverted 17 year old, was always good at noticing things. The way her neighbors' pets started vanishing. The way the news anchors stumbled over their words. The way her school suddenly cared about checking students for "fevers" but never offered explanations. Still grieving her mother and lost in the silence of her own home, Neve watches as the world slips further from normal-until the night the power goes out. Until the night she sees a man, gaunt and bloodied, standing in her backyard. Watching her. After that, everything falls apart. As cities burn and the dead walk the streets, Neve is forced from the quiet life she knew into a fractured world ruled by survival, instinct, and impossible questions. Who can be trusted? What do the revenants-the "turned"-still remember? And how much of yourself can you lose before you're no longer human? Alongside Jace, a guarded 19 year old, a boy with his own shadows, Neve walks a path littered with broken people, fading memories, and echoes of a past that refuses to stay buried. Her journal becomes a guide, her sketches a record of what the world used to be-and what might still be worth saving.. She meets people. She loses them. She learns to trust, and she learns to grieve. But most importantly-she survives.
