"I can't lose you like I've lost everyone else" I say, something inside of him clicks and his eyes turn angry "You have no idea what loss is" he says through clenched teeth. Riley dies not even a day later, but Ellie doesn't which confuses her. She goes to her mother's friend Marlene who helps her out by taking her to two smugglers, Joel and Tess, who are instructed to take her to a group of Fireflies who can reverse engineer a cure for the infected. Joel is in his late 40's, he was there when the apocalypse started and has suffered ever since, until he meets Ellie and his entire perspective on life changes. He finds that over time he begins to have feelings for Ellie, he wants to protect her and shelter her from this horrible life. Can Ellie and Joel save the world?
