Kai has been through the ringer. Abused and forced to live in foster care her entire life, Kai honestly has no hope. That is until she is fostered by the one and only Jerry Herin. A writer who was been on a hiatus for 5 years. Famous for a mistake he didn't mean to publish.
His 3 sons and one daughter still don't know why he allowed this "peasant" into their home. Kai must learn, at least for now, how to adapt to her new school. Filled with privileged "dickheads" at this "prestigious institution".
As she lives with the Herins she comes closer and closer to figuring out her mother's identity a mystery that has haunted Kai all her life.
Everything is crazy and extremely overwhelming but it's okay when your living with the pain.
