"Again the shadows came, melting from the walls. They paused and watched me, but this time they didn't just taunt me. One of them locked eyes with me and rushed up to stand by my head with insane speed. I panicked, and started struggling in my restraints. Grinning insanely, it stroked my cheek, whispering my name through it's wickedly sharp teeth. I whimpering for it to leave me alone. It's touch felt so cold, like ice. It looked up at the others, asking a silent question, and got half a dozen slow nods back in response. The shadow at my head smiled and reached out for my neck too quickly for my eyes to follow. It pressed down so hard on my throat I could instantly feel pounding in my lungs. I thrashed around wildly, with no result other than tiring myself faster. "You're ours now, girl." The shadow hissed in my ear. My lungs were screaming for air and my vision blurred, before turning to black altogether." -Excerpt from Shadows
