Cold Hearted

Malory is a 16 year old, Erudite Dauntless transfer. She comes from and abusive family, and a life of lab testing and serum injections. Jeanine Matthews, the Erudite leader, designed a serum that would allow certain people to have "abilities" nothing involving flying or lazier vision, but she possessed a power that allowed her to be fearless, brave, and a stone cold killer. Only when certain events happen will she ever truly unlock her potential. Jeanine was going to use this serum to take over the entire faction system. But Malory was not going to let that happen. Her life was what some people would call awful. At least until the choosing ceremony where her decision could save her from anymore scars or bruises. Malory begins to let people in and trust them after a selfless action from one of the Dauntless leaders saves her existence.

In this book, there is different conflict, the "divergent" are not looked as, as a threat, and the rarity of being "divergent" is rare. You will have to find everything else out reading the book!
