Avery Beckett had very different views on the meaning of life. It was hard work and grind as far as he was concerned. Specifically, this summer was going to go accordingly:

1) Putting up with Tom Kingsley in the garage until he had enough money for college.

2) Keeping on Jack Johnston's good side.

3) Avoiding Preston Kingsley at all costs. And her gang of boy devouring followers. And getting Patrick out of their snares.

4) Working on the old Beetle so he could be the hottest ride on the roads of Colwyn bay by September.

But then Cassiopeia Thornton arrives in town, with a whole different plan entirely.

1) Skinnydipping at Midnight in the clear blue sea

2)Sleeping under the Stars

3)Leaping into the unknown, blindfolded.

4)Kissing a total stranger, on the mouth, for five minutes

5) Stealing something big, and returning it, of course.

Caught up in a whirlwind of adventure and trouble, Avery and Cassie reinvent both their summers and their lives, all while growing closer each day.

But can the girl named after the stars be tamed enough to finally see that the perfect boy she wished on stars for is right in front of her.

And can plain Avery Beckett finally be wild enough for the girl named after he stars.
