Trees flew by Alex as he bounced up and down on his seat, the potholes on the road more prominent than the road itself. He had finally finished his training and was now war ready. Bright eyed and bushy tailed, Alex couldn't help but to grin. Since his mother was dead and his father couldn't care less, Alex had signed up to join the war. But, Alex had lied about his age. He wasn't eighteen but had only just turned fifteen two months previous. Alex was desperate for adventure though and he felt that the only way he could be useful was to join in on the war effort. There's one thing that nobody knows about Alex though and that is he does not feel anything sexual or romantic towards women or girls his age. The boys his age and men though are another story. This is one secret that really is life or death and not nearly as serious as him lying about his age. Not even his friends Manuel and Tommy know. Especially Tommy, the boy who he has loved since they were ten years old. (All songs linked to each chapter are actual stories told in the form of song. They all occurred in the year 1943. For chapter four, the story of the song there is mentioned. This story is not super historically accurate.)
