In a time after a terrible plague came an era of peace and harmony among the six thousand, five hundred and forty three survivors. 
Sixty five years later there were still six thousand, five hundred and forty three survivors, who resided in a town called Mount Wescott, jagged peaks and forests surrounding it in every which direction. As soon as someone was born, one way or another, somebody else died.  It happened each time like clockwork, the population never increasing or decreasing. The people were oblivious to what lay outside their safe haven, in fact, they believed that they were the only people left on earth, that is, until the day when all hell broke loose.

@AmberLJConrad made this amazing cover. I have to thank her for making every Single one of my covers. She probably is annoyed with me but I appreciate her helping me! I get a bit of distance before I trip over a body and fall to the ground. I start crawling over the body's to get away, I'll I feel a kick to my stomach, the force of it was so hard I puke. I wipe my mouth and try to get up. I feel a hand on my shoulder and I'm flipped over so I'm facing up. The man looks like has a broken nose. Use it to your advantage. A voice says in my head. He leans down so his face is inches from mine and has a twisted grin. I lash out hitting him in the nose with my elbow. I see anger flash in his eyes, suddenly I have pain in my eye and cheekbone. I groan and cover my face with my hands waiting for the next hit. Daphne and Violet are life long friends, even when they world seems to crumble around them. They need to get home, trying to avoid the chaos happening in the world. Once they reach their destination they are in for a big surprise. Thankfully they have him with them to help them through what will happen next.

After it all happened, the Plague created what feels like a whole new world. Survivors created new lives for themselves and carried on with their lives. Me? I didn't get the chance to create a new life. Thanks to my absolutely wonderful father figure, I was forced to become an entirely different person. Thankfully I was able to escape his peachy influence and take some control of my new life. What I don't know is the Plague brought on after effects. Everything changed eleven years ago and only a few knew what actually happened after billions of people died. That all changes one-day though and I found my life completely flipped upside down. There's not a lot that can freak me out in this world. Only large animals with sharp claws, too many people touching me, bullies, hives, horror movies, sitting underneath fans or lights or anything that dangles from a ceiling, glass or wooden bridges, my mother, mosquitoes, public situations, taking a shower with nobody in the house, taking a shower with too many people in the house and crocks. Oh, and zombies. Zombies is definitely on that list. It's almost a shame too, that I have to race through a city packed full of them to find my missing family. Packed full of zombies, by the way, not crocks. (Although I don't know which situation is worse.) Now I have to not only keep my feeble body alive, but also protect (or be protected by) my two best friends in the entire world as we all try to survive in a city packed with the Dead.
