"It wasn't supposed to end like this.." Her blue eyes searched mine as they started to glaze over with tears. Tears that she so willingly held back until this moment. Until this very moment. Emotions came flooding back to me, memories of her and I. Our conversations at midnight, our laughs and our tears.
I just looked at her with a solemn look sketched onto my face.
"Then how was it supposed to end?"
That's when I knew. I didn't know her like I thought I did. Worry flashed across her face when she realized, this really was the end. This was it. The girl I had a million memories with, was the one who was now gone.

The blood had already leaked down my forehead, but I kept my eyes on Shane and tried to blink quickly to clear my vision. "Hang on, please. Please hang on." He pleaded, holding my body up to a sitting position. I couldn't even remember what had struck me and I was getting nervous by Shane's worried face. "I'm... it hurts." I mumbled. "I'm so sorry." He held me closer. This time tears started to form in his dark green eyes but I could tell Shane didn't want to cry in front of me. My head started to feel more dizzy and I had to give in and close my eyes, much to Shane's dismay and his protests. I probably should've just listened to him from the start when he said don't go outside in this weather, but me being pissy with him and wanting to prove a point- I did and now I'm laying on the wet grass with a gash on my temple and an even bigger one on my leg. "We'll get you to Harvey." Shane said. I could hear his voice break at the end. He picked me up and started walking. "Please wake up." I wanted to so badly but I was exhausted from the hike and spending the night in the cold and shivering for hours. Shane's warm hands under my back and legs already felt way better. "This is all my fault. The one good thing to happen in my life...." Shane let out a sob but never stopped walking. I just wanted to hug him and tell him everything was going to be alright. I could feel the blood still tripping down my leg and face, so I knew I couldn't make false promises but Shane needed me. He needs me. They used my vulnerability against me. They used that weapon, to make me accept their stupid idea. And I of course, accepted it, I didn't even know what they were going to do. They tugged and poked and even shoved their disgusting finger in your wound, just to see you cry. To see you change. No pitty in their eyes. They just continue. They drag you around with metal chains, hit you and turn you into a experiment. But I had enough of the tugging, the clawing, the moaning, the crying and pleading for them to stop, but simply feeding them with our pain. I can tell
I'm different, I can read and see what people think. Every moment of everyday... it's not normal. I've been this way for too long. Ever since I saw my best friends dad die in front of my own two, once blue eyes. My now gold orbs, seeing the world for what it actually is. She wanted to die. He wanted to live. ••• A hand grabbed onto my wrist, yanking me back just as the train rushed past, before I'd even had time to comprehend whether or not I'd carry out the action. I stumbled back into the person's chest, my heart jumping out as I swivelled around, startled to find myself staring into piercing dark brown eyes. "Were you going to jump?!" "No," I drawled out sarcastically, ignoring the intensity of his eyes as they bore into my own, "I just stand on the edge of train platforms at midnight because I feel like it." Seeing the stranger tense, I stepped away from the edge, feeling his hand let go of mine as I picked up my bag before moving to sit down on one of the platform benches. Letting out an evident sigh of relief, he sat down after tentative movements towards me, and I could feel his intense gaze raking across my features. His eyes never left me, I was sure of it, with every step both he and I had taken. "Are you okay?" He had asked warily, apparent apprehension in his deep voice while he spoke, "Do you want to talk about it?" "What's there to talk about?" I threw his question back at him, watching him study me for a few critical moments before his potent gaze switched to our surroundings. "I did just watch you nearly kill yourself; that might be a place to start?" ••• She didn't expect for a complete stranger to stop her milliseconds away from committing suicide. She didn't expect him to be so kindhearted and patient. He didn't expect to stop her from jumping in front of a train the first time they met.
