Simple Things

"It wasn't supposed to end like this.." Her blue eyes searched mine as they started to glaze over with tears. Tears that she so willingly held back until this moment. Until this very moment. Emotions came flooding back to me, memories of her and I. Our conversations at midnight, our laughs and our tears.
I just looked at her with a solemn look sketched onto my face.
"Then how was it supposed to end?"
That's when I knew. I didn't know her like I thought I did. Worry flashed across her face when she realized, this really was the end. This was it. The girl I had a million memories with, was the one who was now gone.
