Adelina Taylor is anything but ordinary. She was orphaned at the age of 11. The cause of her parents death? Antonio Gambino, notorious crime boss.
Her parents owned a small-family restaurant in the Bronx, called "Taylor's." Business wasn't doing so well when they first started out. Her parents looked to the Gambino's for help, knowing their reputation but also extreme wealth. They received a loan from the Gambino's under the condition that they pay them back in 4 months.
When 4 months came up, Adelina's parents still didn't have the money. As a result, they were shot in cold blood by the leader of the mafia gang. Adelina was sent to live with her aunt. Together, they worked hard enough to pay back the Gambino's and buy back the family restaurant.
It's a shame trouble continues to follow them.
Niccolo Gambino, son of Antonio, decides to pay a visit to Adelina. Too bad she doesn't remember him. What happens when he reveals himself to her? All hell breaks loose, of course.
And what happens when he reveals her parents made a deal to marry her off to him? Well, you'll just have to read and find out.
