There's been an anomaly on Mars... a mysterious breach that scientists believe to lead to some distant location. Of the several squadrons and fleets that have gone through, none have ever returned nor are heard from again.
The last disappearance was a few months ago. The United Nations has taken a huge initiative in preparing the most well-equipped fleet in human history. This time, they intend to find out what's on the other side of the Straussberg Portal.

Together, they find themselves at the center of a millenia-old mystery that could change the fate of the entire galaxy. This story is a fanfic of the Spectra series by Matt Lauth. This story doesn't intersect much with the main series plot, but might include some slight lore spoilers, and might be confusing if you haven't read at least the first book. I'd recommend reading the second book as well if you can get your hands on it. A few characters aren't made by myself, check the Acknowledgements at the end of the book for further details. Bones on Mars - A paranormal, sci-fi, fantasy romance
The mission - colonize the slopes of Olympus Mons on Mars before the Pacific Alliance lands. The challenge - something isn't quite right with the site foreseen for the colony. Explorations reveal a cave where the support struts for the home dome are supposed to go. It gets worse - not only does the cave move, but it contains the impossible: a human skeleton. And there's a writing on the wall. What starts off odd, soon descends into total madness. But the next shuttle back to Earth doesn't launch until next year. ONC Prompt 59. The year is 2042. "Boot up initiated" a male voice said, showing no emotions. Suddenly as if someone turned on the lights [They] could see something. A room. The only thing they could see was a window in front of them. People dressed like scientists stood behind the window. ------- A story staring GLaDOS as it's main character. It will not be canon GLaDOS though. If anyone finds any grammatical mistakes, feel free to tell me about them. Also seeing how things are going for now, it will be a slow progression story.
