Ainsley didn't swim. Public pools made her nauseous, and lakes and rivers terrified her. Now, though, she'd give anything to feel the queasiness inside her belly or the shock of terror jolt through her nerves. So tonight, she slipped into the hotel's pool and sat on the hot pink inner tube, letting her legs hang over the edge, tilting her head back so her hair fell into the water.
It gave her such an echo of real life that she could almost feel her heart pump again.
