1957 was proving to be a strange year. Leaving London was difficult in and of itself for Denise, but to do so at the beginning of summer? An absolute drag; and to the dirty, port city of Liverpool, no less. Her summer job was to mind her parents' new music store, and, much to her dismay, be hospitable to the sorts of characters it attracted. Teddy Boys, albeit fascinating, were nothing but trouble.
