-Cross-post from my Ao3- The Aftermath at Mount Massive is part one of a three part series called Survivors. This part is done. It is a fanfic for the game Outlast, set after the first game/DLC. However, you don't have to know much about the game to jump in. This story follows an independent journalist named Miles Upshur who received an email from a whistleblower, Waylon Park, who worked at Murkoff Psychiatric Systems: Mount Massive. The hospital was supposed to be run as a charity, offering help to those who could not pay, or for those who other hospitals wouldn't accept. However, things weren't as they seemed and Murkoff was using the hospital as a cover for a laboratory where they were performing experiments on humans. The end result of such experiments was the creation of Project Walrider, a bio-nanite parasite that lives inside a human body. Miles stumbles into the facility during a security breach and riot. He manages to survive the night but in doing so becomes infected with the nanites, becoming the new host for Project Walrider. The Aftermath of Mount Massive is about Miles coming to terms with what being the Host means for both his humanity and future. Content Warning: This fic contains blood, gore, cannibalism, a suicide attempt, mild body horror, and language. If you are sensitive to any of those things I suggest not reading. I never thought my life would be like this; trapped in a dark room and scared for my life. A blindfold was wrapped around my head, covering my eyes, making me completely blind and on high alert. My breathing was ragged and I could smell the mold that was most likely covering most of the room. If I was going to die, it would be with the name of my kidnapper. A voice boomed closely to me, "Well, if I told you that, this wouldn't be any fun." **************** Skylar James, a 24 year old girl, is kidnapped by a very well known gang who has a vendetta against her family. In an attempt to find light in her situation, she makes friends with one of the members. Logan Grant was forced into the gang at the young age of 16. He was abused until he became emotionless and ruthless, so that one day, he could rule the gang. Everything was going smoothly until Skylar is brought in. With a blindfold wrapped around her head, he instantly feels bad for her, though he cannot show it. Afraid of getting caught, he shows no emotion while others are around. Though, behind closed doors is a whole other story.

The man is smoking hot and makes Aiden's dreams of getting the girl to seem very impossible. So what would happen if Aiden gets involved with the wrong person? Will Aiden get the girl?
