[UNEDITED/ON HOLD] After getting a call from his mother back in King County that his father fell into a coma, Elijah Grimes wants to do all he can to get himself out of California and back to Georgia as quickly as possible. When he succeeds to get time off work for about a week and a half, he books a trip for the earliest flight he could get to Atlanta. However, when his flight is canceled, Elijah is beyond furious.

But, after the repeated plane crashes and word of an infection spreading, it doesn't take long for Elijah to figure out why he can't make it back.

As screams and growls begin to fill the night, Elijah takes refuge with his neighbors and stick with them as long as possible. Though no matter what, Elijah still plans to make it back the Georgia to see his family whether they come with him or let him on his own.

Moving to Atlanta, Georgia a few months before the apocalypse hit them as well was really not on the list. Meeting Dale right away helped until the breakout and you were lost with two duffel bags full of your stuff and your cat until he led you to his camp. The anxiety of being in a new place, only two people who made you feel comfortable which was Amy and Dale until Rick came around, but he couldn't take much of an interest in you since his wife and best friend hated you, then you realized there was someone else who also didn't fit in. *Spoilers for The Walking Dead! Casey doesn't really want to face the outside world, especially since her father seems so keen on staying until the end, but she also doesn't want to die in that building at the young age of twelve. All she finds herself doing is training, waiting, and hoping that something happens. So, when Rick Grimes and his group enter the CDC wanting help, it seems like her prayers were answered. Leaving the building and stepping into a walker-infested world after losing what's left of her family isn't the easiest thing to do, but she has a new group of people ready to help her. But still, something for the pain would always help, and the boy with the pretty eyes seems like a good enough distraction. 7 months after the small group left Gate City they realize that Texas isn't what they had hoped. They eventually leave everything behind to go on an adventure north across the US to get to Washington where they hope to be able to start new there and escape their past while keeping in touch with their friends back home. The world gets larger as they meet a larger militarized group on their journey. They will eventually learn if this journey was really worth all that they lost along the way.
