Adopted by Dave, Aubrey finally feels like she has a chance at a normal life, just like any other teen in Chilliwack, till she finds out that Dave is abusive and invites his drunken and often stoned friends to come over and 'fondle' her as they please. After three years she finally learns to fend for herself and get a job and even make some friends, but she always has to be home by 9pm, or her life will take a turn for the worse. With Dave always on her case and calling her a slut, and saying she was just like her mother finally causes her to break down and go to Dexter for help. Just out of the hospital, Aubrey a abused, suicidal 15 year old girl has run away from home 7 times. Each time she runs away she gets severely beaten and raped for hours at a time, and starved for days. Aubrey was in and out of the foster care system, until Dave adopted her. Having an abnormal childhood Aubrey has a very small social life, with little self confidence.
