I was a bookworm, although most people just called me shy. Honestly, it's not that I was afraid of people, I just enjoyed the characters of books more than the living ones. There was always far too much drama in the world. Thankfully, the crowds tend to ignore 'shy' kids, so I could get away and read my books in peace.
I was always eager to finish a book, racing through it without really learning anything. It was just another distraction from life. When I met him, everything changed. They always said you can't let someone else change you, but he opened my eyes. He made me slow down and appreciate each story for what it was. And eventually, he helped me rejoin the real world.

I was waiting for my dad when my life changed. Not in any way like a fairy tale with magic wands or going through a rabbit hole like kids in the books do. More like I found it and wished my father came back to clean up his own problem instead of risking my life for this. I can only hope that I will make it out alive.
A New Perspective
My family and I never stayed in one place for more than a year, I've seen more of the world in my short time than most people will see in their entire lives. Because of that I've never had a chance to make friends or be a true kid. Music and Books were my escape, my safe haven. When my dad told me we were moving again I expected the same old routine.
