Years ago, a human fell into Mt. Ebott. Many had fallen before and few monsters expected this one to be different. Rather than attacking everyone, the human known as Frisk chose to spare them instead -  leading them to what would be their freedom - until their attempts to break the barrier between the human and monster worlds failed, trapping both Frisk and her companions in the Underground.

Time passed by and the monsters and Frisk learned to call the Underground a true home. But not all is as it seems. Frisk's dreams are haunted by a strange being known as Chara, giving her memories filled with blood. Though she wishes them to be dreams, are they? Or are they true memories of a time now reset?

A mysterious power begins building in the Underground and only Frisk has the power to save the monsters. But can she harness the power of Save or will everything be Reset?
