CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a method of dentistry using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing to create ceramic dental restorations. Using CEREC technology, the dentist is able to take digital impressions to create a visual model of the patient's teeth. The dentist then uses the model to design the tooth restoration on-screen, which is sent to a milling machine. This technology eliminates the need for off-site laboratory work in between appointments, so the process can take place during a single visit to the dentist.
