Best Friend Poems

A poem my best friend once wrote for me:

A beautiful girl
but dead in the eyes
sick in the mind
and trying to die.
A beautiful girl
with cuts down her arms
addicted to self harm
she considered it her own art.
A beautiful girl
with gorgeous red hair
self medicating
to ignore what the voices are saying.
A beautiful girl
who i call my best friend
locked away now
because she let her demons in.
A beautiful girl
losing her way
there's nothing to say
shes lost all her faith.

when i didn't
have faith in me.
You gave me love
when i didn't
love myself.
You gave me a friend
when i didn't
want any.
You gave me a
shoulder to cry on
when i didn't have one.
You got me help
when i didn't
want it.
You stopped me
from hurting myself
when no one could.
You saved my life
when i didn't want
it to be saved.
You became my
best friend when
you showed me
you were there.
