A poem my best friend once wrote for me:
A beautiful girl
but dead in the eyes
sick in the mind
and trying to die.
A beautiful girl
with cuts down her arms
addicted to self harm
she considered it her own art.
A beautiful girl
with gorgeous red hair
self medicating
to ignore what the voices are saying.
A beautiful girl
who i call my best friend
locked away now
because she let her demons in.
A beautiful girl
losing her way
there's nothing to say
shes lost all her faith.
The poem i responded with:
You gave me faith
when i didn't
have faith in me.
You gave me love
when i didn't
love myself.
You gave me a friend
when i didn't
want any.
You gave me a
shoulder to cry on
when i didn't have one.
You got me help
when i didn't
want it.
You stopped me
from hurting myself
when no one could.
You saved my life
when i didn't want
it to be saved.
You became my
best friend when
you showed me
you were there.

Just Go With It
Megan attends college at Clemson University and she has a boyfriend, Christian, that she has been with since high school. She has the great best friend, nice apartment and car and she's a year away from her degree, but something just feels missing. Megan doesn't hate her life by any means... She's just gotten sort of bored with it, always feeling like there's something else she needs... Until she meets... Noah. She never expected to meet someone like him much less feel the sparks that ignite as soon as they meet eyes.... Can she just ignore feelings like that? Feelings she never felt before, not even from her own boyfriend. Noah won't be able to resist though, he has to do something about it... about her. Will she give in to the feelings taking over her? ---------- Excerpt: "Oh, you've been picturing me naked have you?" She asked sort of becoming amused now. Shit do I sound like a pervert? "No that's not what I mean...I just..." I tried to laugh it off hoping she wouldn't think I was a douche. She glanced inside through the sliding doors to see what looked like the girl she was dancing with earlier looking for her. When she turned back to look at me she had a look in her eyes that while I didn't know what it meant was still incredibly sexy. "Damn that's too bad... because I have been thinking about you naked since I ran into you this morning." She said confidently standing up and walking past me towards the house but not before brushing her hand across my leg. I watched her in awe as she walked back inside swinging her hips making my eyes go straight towards her ass. I sat there for a few minutes confused but extremely turned on... I couldn't lie I was definitely picturing her naked now.Complete

Emotional Amnesia
Sometimes when I say "I'm okay", I want someone to look me in the eyes, hug me tight and say, "I know you're not". I have felt like this many times in my life; as a kid, teenager and as an adult. I have seen many things in my life and felt even more things that has been horribly depressing... But I got up. I stood up to walk on for another day. I dealt with my emotional amnesia the only way I knew I could and that was by writing it out into poetry. I wanted to forget my pain and forget what I was going through. I needed that cut of the blade or a pill to drink to take everything away. My poetry became both my pill and my blade... Now I share the most intimate part of myself with the world. The part of me I kept hidden in the closet. The part I never thought I would ever present to the world. Now is the time I have to stop having amnesia about my emotions. It is time to learn, to better myself and to stand up and remember the things that I shut out like a voluntary amnesia all these years. Those who are offended after reading this - f**k you! It does get better.
People say it will get better. But to be fair, most of them never were in your place. They say you will get happy again, but how can they know? I've struggled with trauma, mental illnesses, and self harm for many years. These are (mostly) poems - about me and my journey of getting better. ! As this is about self harm and other previously mentioned topics, it might be triggering. I don't glorify it in any way, though. I'm also not a native English speaker. If you find any mistakes, please tell me so I can improve.

Why don't you start back cutting, and kill yourself! Get the fuck out of my face." Justin spat at me. His words burned deeply. "Y-y-you don't mean that." I told him as I tried to grab onto his hand. He pushed me back, an punched me in the eye. "Don't put your fucking hands on me. Damn Precious looking bitch. Now either you're going to give me the pussy, or you're going to run back to Malik. Hurry up my sloppy toppy appointment is waiting for me." He said. I don't like him to give him the most precious piece of me. I shook my head no, and headed for the door. "Stop, Megan!" I heard Skye call after me. I could hear the desperation that laced her voice. But I couldn't bring myself to turn back. How had I let myself get into this? How did I let myself fall in love with my best friends sister? This was all kinds of fucked up. "I said stop!" She raised her voice, pulling on my arm slightly.
