I blankly stared at the coffin which had wooden carvings of flowers embedded onto it. My eyes filled with tears and I slumped against a tree. The clouds had surrendered its rain and the trees encompassing the grave where all lanky and bare, yet enchanted with an ethereal quality, just like nanny liked them to be. Her husky voice rang in my ears.

Pity, grief and surprisingly hunger where three emotions that gushed through my veins. They twisted and combined together forming droplets of agony in my eyes. Despite, my emotionless life these droplets ran down my cold, pressed cheeks. Her husky voice rang in my ears.

My undone shoelaces lingered in the muddy soil. I remember how every morning before I went to school, nanny would say "tie your shoelaces darling, don't want stiff legs like me." Her husky voice rang in my ears.

I still remember how every night till yesterday nanny would read me a story until I pondered off. I felt warm and welcomed by the sight of my wooden bedside table and bed, not to mention the satisfying engulfing flames. Her husky voice rang in my ears.

I bent down and tied my laces. I rose and without looking at nanny I ran into her house, picked up a golden framed photo of her seamless face on it and I ran away. Her husky voice rang in my ears.
