Hey, My names Jade. I never really understood why I was the outsider, why I had to be the one bullied, or why I always seemed to be 'that' nerd that didn't even fit in with that group. I was the outsider, completely unknown to the world. But what happens if just that makes you special? Makes you that much more acceptable in another world, dimension as I like to see it. Turns out, I'm not alone, and even better? I'm living a life never seen by those bullies at school. I may have been that other half of the puzzle unfinished but man, did the careless people making it miss out on the discovery that could have changed their life.

How quickly everything ended by just a single day, I was just like any other girl in the world- laughing and hanging out with friends, taking endless selfies, having crushes on bad boys and nerds included. I was confident, maybe even a little vain. I never thought or cared about how I look. It was just mine. Normal. Easy. But everything changed in one single moment- a moment filled with fire, screaming metal, and a blur of terror that rewrote my life. I survived. Everybody says I'm lucky but this, this doesn't feel like survival it feels like a punishment, a curse. A curse that am willing to carry all my life. The accident left me with permanent facial disfigurement, and ever since, I've been stuck behind a mask I never asked to wear. My face is the first thing anyone sees, and sometimes, it feels like the only thing they see. I avoid mirrors now. I no longer go out i miss how I would go out whenever I felt like it. I can't risk being stared at- the quick. Friends faded. Invitations stopped. Of course this would stop, who would want to invite the hideous me. I would scare everyone worse ruin their appetite. That's how everyone reacted the first time I went out. What did I expect. Life moved on for everyone but me. My mom is the only person in my life right now, the only person who hasn't looked away. Shes' become my anchor, my only link to the world I used to know. Even with her love, it's still hard to silence the voices in my head, the ones saying I'm hideous, broken, unworthy. I miss my old smile. I still haven't done anything in life. This isn't just my appearance it's about everything, it stolen my self- esteem, my confidence, my ability to feel like I belong anywhere. I dont feel beautiful anymore, it's not like I was that beautiful but I was myself. I don't even feel like me. This is a constant battle with the mirror, with the world, and with yourself. And most days, I'm still trying to find the strength to look up to.

An internal voice whispered, "Call him." But I chose not to. I dismissed it once more, saying, "He never liked me anyway." Yet the dilemma lingered. "But maybe he does. The way he looks at you... it's different." Out of nowhere, he glanced my way. My heartbeat quickened, sending shivers down my spine. I averted my gaze, pretending to look around. "Has he noticed me? No, wait-oh my god." --- After switching high schools, Nina discovered a new way of life. She fell in love, made wonderful friends, and everything seemed perfect. But Ethan-a popular boy who never focused on anyone but her-was the object of her hatred. He was always there, always keeping her safe. He used to annoy her endlessly. She hated him deeply. A Thousand Lies (crimson harbor book 3) by rosiedieee
38 parts Ongoing
*BOOK THREE, INTERCONNECTED SERIES, NOT A STAND ALONE* JETT- When I was in high school I lived for one thing and that was adrenaline, motorcycles, fast cars, getting in trouble with the law and putting all my time into football. Even if that meant sneaking around with the meanest girl in school. From going over to each other's houses to finish a project, from me falling for her so hard it almost cost me everything. Now I'm starting my junior at college after the most fucked up year and trying to go back to normal. Or at least I'm trying to go back to normal, but Nicole has wriggled her way back into my life. Anywhere I went, she was there, annoying me, taunting me, every time I tell myself I don't care about her anymore, but it was so hard to keep lying to myself, especially when it looked like she still did too. NICOLE- When people use to hear my name, they would practically bow in awe, now they cower in disgust thanks to my dad. In high school it might have looked like I was on top, I was a cheerleader dating the quarterback, always put together and most importantly I always looked happy. But in reality I was drowning from my crazy dad's control, taking my anger out on anyone I could, dating someone I hated and was sneaking around with his teammate because he was the only one who could made me feel like a person. But in typical Nicole Salem fashion I screwed that up, or more like I was forced to screw it up. Now I was a junior in college, the whole town of Crimson Harbor hated me, I was a working as a stripper, my dad was dead, my mom didn't talk to me and I was free from acting perfect all the time. I have friends who love me and support but yet I still feel utterly alone. But as much as I was free, there was still one person who could bend me and I would let him, Jett. He hates me that isn't a secret but if he hates me so much why was there moments where he cared?
