Walking to store I smile to the marine standing in the street at his post. I can't help but notice him shivering. This time when I smile and he smiles back, I hold up a sign that I've decorated "Thank you for your service it means a lot" and I smile even wider. He does too and says that my smiles and thanks mean so much to him. 

What I didn't know is that my smiles actually meant the world to him.
